A Night in the Woods was held in November 2010 and was the first art installation created by Shane Sweet and presented by Sandbox. Aerialists hung high above the snow drifts and among the falling flakes, butterflies and fireflies flew freely and owls perched themselves in the trees that helped turn a Downtown LA warehouse into a snow globe for an evening. 3 bands performed highlighted by Sandboxʼs performance which saw them joined on stage by a ballerina dancing in coordination with aerialists tucked high overhead. The Speakeasy is the second installation by Shane Sweet, presented by Sandbox. Set for March 3rd and March 24th 2012, The Speakeasy will see a Downtown LA warehouse turned into a regular Prohibition Era blind pig. With Griffith Park as itʼs setting, this show will be full of surprises. Be sure to have cash on hand for the in house casino, cigarette selling flapper girls, and the drinks in the claw foot tubs. And beware the zoo breakout that could always be waiting in the distance...
